Conservation: Presumably extinct (Powell & Henderson 2012, G. Rodda, pers. comm., 16 Dec 2014).

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyApparently named after Latin gilvus = pale yellow, and Latin torques = necklace, collar.
