Type locality: Ca. 5 km (airline) SSE Marché Léon, Département de la Grand'Anse, Haiti.

DiagnosisDESCRIPTION: Size very small (SVL in only female 17 mm); dorsals granular, sub-imbricate, keeled, more swollen on flanks than middorsally, axilla to groin 56; no area of middorsal granules or granular scales; ventrals large, cycloid, flattened, smooth, imbricate (no count possible); dorsal caudal scales flattened, flat-lying, acute, keeled, imbricate, ventral caudal scales flattened, flat-lying, cycloid, smooth, midventral row enlarged; snout covered by large, plate-like scales (rostral, supra-nasals, postnasals, labials), scales on snout behind plates swollen, subimbricate to imbricate, keeled; gular scales granular; chest scales smooth; midbody scales uncountable; supralabials to mideye 3. Dorsum dark brown with dark-edged, orange-centered ocelli on body and tail; ocelli arranged in 6 irregular rows on body, those of dorsolateral rows largest and most prominent, those of paramedian and ventrolateral rows smaller and less distinct; head with pair of light, transversely elongate occipital markings, and faint pair of forked, dark postocular stripes; sacrum with pair of enlarged light diagonal markings whose dark margins unite to form sacral U; tail with 2 dorsal rows of ocelli; throat lightly pigmented, with longitudinal streaks but with light central area (from Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 490).
