Distribution	Martinique; leeward coast (Fort-de-France to 1 km NW Schoelcher), and inland to vicinity of Didier and St.-Joseph. Type locality: Martinique; restricted to Fort-de-France, Martinique, by Barbour, 1921.

Etymology	Named from the Latin festus = joy, joyful, merry, a reference to the types having been collected on Independence Day, 4 July 1914.
