Type locality: Hillside above Pond Bay, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands.  
TypesHolotype: MCZ 77211. 
DiagnosisDESCRIPTION: Size very small (SVL in males to 16 mm, in females to 18 mm); dorsals small, acute, strongly keeled, flattened, imbricate, axilla to groin 30-35; no area of middorsal granules or granular scales; ventrals smooth, cycloid, imbricate, axilla to groin 26-29; dorsal caudal scales keeled, acute, imbricate, flat-lying, ventral caudal scales smooth, cycloid, enlarged midventrally; snout moderately long, rather blunt; snout scales small, narrow, flat, juxtaposed; 2 postnasals; 1-3 (mode 2) internasals; upper labials to mideye 2-3 (mode 3); gular scales keeled; chest scales keeled (l exception); midbody scales 50-55; escutcheon relatively small, with only slight extensions onto thighs, 3-5 x 11-13. Not sexually dichromatic; dorsum deep brown with scattered darker scales or fine reticulum of darker pigment; narrow, dark-edged postocular stripe over each temple, fading at occipital region; a dark-edged, yellow-brown, more or less oval, transverse bar across occipital region, ends reaching (or not) postocular stripes; a faint, light preocular bar across base of snout; venter grayish to cream with varying invasion of dark pigment; throat pattern faint to bold linear markings; tail yellowish brown with pattern of irregular, short, linear or clustered dark elements (from Schwartz & Henderson 1991: 522).
