TypesHolotype: lost, was MTD (MTKD) Realkatalog 219, Doré, New Guinea, collected A.B. Meyer. Lost due to bombing of collection during World War II (Obst, 1977).

CommentSynonymy: partly after de Rooij 1915, Brygoo 1985, and fide G. Shea (pers. comm., 2 May 2012). S. jeudei is a brighly colored juvenile of S. latifasciatus.

Holotype of latifasciatus not listed in ZMB type catalogue of Bauer & Günther 2003.
