CommentAbundance: only known from its original description (Meiri et al. 2017). This is one of the species called 'lost' and 'rediscovered' by Lindken et al. 2024. 
EtymologyNamed after the Instituto Veterinario de Investigaciones Tropicales y de la Altura (IVITA), a cooperative research institute of the Universidad San Marcos and the United Nations FAO. The faculty and staff of IVITA assisted field studies through provision of facilities and logistical support.
