DiagnosisDiagnosis: TORRES-CARVAJAL 2007. 
CommentBelongs to the clade Boreomegalepis (fide TORRES-CARVAJAL 2006). 
EtymologyNamed after the Chota Valley (Ibarra Basin), inhabited by this species.
