Type locality: 03° 53’ S, 80° 04’ W, 300 m. elevation, Provincia El Oro, Ecuador.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: TORRES-CARVAJAL 2007. 
CommentSympatric with S. limitaris in the Departamentos Tumbes.

Belongs to the clade Boreomegalepis (fide TORRES-CARVAJAL 2006). 
EtymologyNamed after the type locality.
