CommentGroup: Diplodactylus elderi group (subgenus Strophurus)

Type species: Diplodactylus elderi STIRLING & ZIETZ 1893 is the type species of the genus Eremiastrophurus WELLS & WELLINGTON 1985 (initially spelled Eremiastrophrurus, then Eremiastrophurus). 
EtymologyNamed after Sir Thomas Elder (1818-1897), a Scottish-born businessman and philanthropist. He arrived in Adelaide in 1854 and formed a business financing copper mines (1859) and sheep farming, among others.
