Type locality: Ningpo (= Ningbo Shi, Zhejiang Province, China)  
TypesTypes: BMNH 1946.8.4.27 (and possibly additional specimens). 
CommentDistribution: Schlüter (2003) doesn’t mention Taiwan as distribution area. 
EtymologyThe specific epithet is an adjective in the nominative case derived from the Latin for ‘northern’, referring to the distribution of this species.
