lanzai: C Libya; Type locality: Mandria Oasis (Libyan Sahara desert, N 26°45′ 40.73′′, E 13°25′ 37.64′′, 538 m elevation), at ruins of an abandoned building.

Type locality: “Batna, Algeria” (i.e. probably southern Algeria, fide LOVERIDGE 1947).

CommentSubspecies: Tarentola neglecta Strauch, 1895, is characterized by partially reduced digital lamellae, a more slender shape of head and body and lower scale counts than other Tarentola species (Joger, 1984).

Distribution: reports from Chad are misidentified T. ephippiata (BSHAENA & JOGER 2013). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin neglecta, disregarded, not cared for, neglected, ignored. [?].
