CommentSimilar species: Species has been confused with T. parvicarinata and T. ephippiata (in Mali).

History: Rösler (1993) gives the year of description as 1809, WERMUTH (1965) as 1823. Mees (1987) clarifies this and corrects it to 1827.

Distribution: Not listed for USA by CROTHER 2000. Not listed for East Africa (i.e. Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi) by Spawls et al. 2018, but in Uganda fide S. Spawls, pers. comm., 28 June 2018). See Bar et al. 2021 for a map.

Synonymy: Tarentola senegalensis BOULENGER 1885 has been synonymized with T. delalandii by LOVERIDGE 1947.
