CommentVenomous, but usually not dangerous to humans.

Distribution: not listed for Niger by Trape & Mané 2015. See map in Šmíd et al. 2019: 39 (Fig. 1).

Habitat: partly arboreal (Harrington et al. 2018). 
EtymologyApparently named after its variegated color pattern, i.e. the variable, irregular patches or bands, at least in some specimens.
