Type locality: 55 km west of Girishk, Aghanistan.

DiagnosisDiagnosis: Three to 5 subpostfemoral tubercles; dorsal tubercles almost always separated from one another by 2 or more small juxtaposed scales or granules, 26-29 tubercles in a paravertebral row extending from immediately behind head to level of vent; 37-40 abdominal scales across middle of belly; a total of 35-46 femoral and preanal pores (seen as slight depressions in the scales in females), the series separated in midline by one or two scales lacking pores or depressions; 15 to 19 interorbital scales (Leviton & Anderson 1984).

Sympatry: Bunopus tuberculatus,Teratoscincus scincus, T. bedriagi, and T. microlepis, Trapelus agilis, Eremias acutirostris, E. lineolata, Ophiomorus tridactylus, and Eryx t. tataricus. 
EtymologyThe name voraginosusis derived from Latin meaning "full of pits," in reference to the large number of femoral and preanal pores in males.
