CommentSynonymy: Teratoscincus roborowskii has previously been synonymized with Teratoscincus scincus and T. przewalskii. The status of T. toksunicus is unclear (the species is not listed in KLUGE 1993, nor in ZHAO & ADLER 1993, listed by RÖSLER 2000 with a question mark, and not mentioned by MACEY et al. 1999, 2005). R. Macey thinks this is synonymous with T. roborowskii (pers. comm., 2 Mar 2015, by phone).

Distribution: see map in Macey et al. 2005: 189.
NCBI taxonID: 146914 [toksunicus]
EtymologyNamed after Captain Vladimir lvanovich Roborovski (1856-1910), an explorer of parts of China and Tibet. He accompanied Przewalski on his third and fourth expeditions (1879-1880 and 1883-1885).
