Comment | Only 6 specimens were described in the literature between 1907 and 1996. Bates 1996 examined the holotype and 14 additional specimens (characters are summarized in Bates 1996: 216, Table 1). |
Etymology | Named after Dr. Hermann Gottfried Breyer (1864-1923), a Dutch naturalist, botanist, and physician who collected in Transvaal and Mozambique (1890-1910). He became Curator (1901) and then Director (1913-1921) of the renamed Transvaal Museum and Zoological Gardens. |
