TypesHolotype: BMNH 1946.1.2.70, a 584 mm female (Warwick). 
Diagnosis 
CommentSynonymy after CEI 1993. FREITAS 2014 lists Thamnodynastes nattereri (Mikan 1828) as valid while WALLACH et al. 2014 listed it as synonym of T. pallidus.

Distribution: Boos 1984 reported one record from Trinidad which has not been confirmed.

Terra typica: India (GÜNTHER 1858, in error)
