Holotype: WAM R10080, from Broome, W. A. [Tiliqua occipitalis auriculare].

EtymologyPresumably named after the Latin multus (much) plus fasciatus (banded), in reference to the multiple narrow bands on the body and tail in this species. (G. Shea, pers. comm., 9 Feb 2024)
