Diagnosis | Original description: “Snout short, broadly rounded. Rostral broader than deep, just visible from above ; internasals not quite half the length of the præfrontals; frontal once and one-fifth as long as broad, as long as its distance from the end of the snout, much shorter than the parietals; nostril between two nasals, widely separated from the internasal and the first labial; preocular once and one-third as long as deep, in contact with the posterior nasal: one postocular; temporals 1+2; six upper labials, third and fourth entering the eye, last largest; three lower labials in contact with the anterior chin shields, which are a little larger than the posterior. Scales in 15 rows. Ventrals 207 ; anal divided subcaudals 27. Dark brown above, with irregular whitish blotches; upper lip and lower parts white. Total length 940 mm.; tail 80.” (Boulenger 1914) |
