Type locality: Restricted to Rio Magdalena, Colombia, by Müller 1040.

Type locality: Lago de Tacarigua,*Edo. Falcón, Venezuela (68° 15' W, 11° 4' N)  
Reproductionoviparous. 
TypesType: BMNH 1947.3.4.87 (and possibly additional specimens)
Holotype: UF (was FSM) 53333, an adult female, collected by Uta Schmidt, August 7, 1978 [chichiriviche]
