DiagnosisDiagnosis: A medium-sized lizard with a moderately long tail. A pair of nuchals is present, the supranasals are usually separated, the prefrontals form a distinct suture in most specimens. Only one scale between the fourth supraocular and the anterior supratemporal. The posterior supratemporal is larger than the anterior one. Dorsals tricarinate. The number of lamellae under the fourth toe varies between 14 and 18, but mostly is 15 or 16. Under the fourth finger there are 11-15, mostly 11 or 12 lamellae. Brown above, flanks dark-brown, either ventrally bordered by a narrow white lateral line or not. Belly greenish-white, males with black spots on the throat. A light spot on the side of the neck in adult specimens (Hoogmoed 1974: 14).
CommentSynonymy partly after HOOGMOED 1974. Euprepes aureogularis used to be considered as a synonym of T. albolabris but treated as valid by some recent authors (e.g. Trape et al. 2012).
