Diagnosis | Diagnosis: Asmall species of Trapelus, with a short and thick head, a dark throat and a homogenous, smooth to feebly keeled dorsal scalation intermixed with a few larger keeled scales of the same shape. Scalation of hindlimb homogenous. The new species differs from all described African taxa of the genus by its body proportions, a short tail, its dorsal scalation and the uniformly dark-coloured throat.
