Type locality: circa 9 miles east of Lorengau on Manus Island.  
Reproductionoviparous 
TypesHolotype: AMS (AM) R30000, an adult male collected by H . G . Cogger, H . C. Dessauer and T . Gobble; Paratypes. AMNH 105873, an adult male and AM R29999, an unsexed hatchling. Data as for holotype. 
Diagnosis 
CommentKnown only from 2 specimens (Austin et al. 2010). 
EtymologyNamed after Leo Daniel Brongersma (1907-1994) [obituary in Copeia 1995: 513 and Zool. Med. Leiden 69: 177].
