CommentSynonymy: Zweifel 1966 and Cogger 1972 expressed the opinion that Tribolonotus gracilis might be synonymous with Tribolonotus novaeguineae (for a discussion see MYS 1988: 148).

Behavior: one of only a few scincid lizards that can vocalize.

EtymologyNamed after Latin “gracilis”, meaning small or lanky, or gracile.
