Etymology | Named after Latin gracile, slender, thin, slim. [“...Body and tail slender, subcylindrical; head narrow, not distinct from neck...”]. The genus was named after Greek tria (τρία), three + Greek metopon (μέτωπον), the space between the eyes, the brow, forehead. ["...Two internasals; one prefrontal plate…"]. |
