DiagnosisDiagnosis: “No gular or ventral crest of enlarged scales, no beard- like gular scales, no horn-like processes in either sex, no fin-like dorsal crest. Well-developed occipital flaps fused in a short median suture behind the casque; a decidedly indistinct parietal crest forked anteriorly; a low dorsal crest comprised of sharply spinose scales (well separated or in groups of two or three followed by an interspace) from the nape to the base of the tail.” (Loveridge 1932: 380)

EtymologyNamed after L.: in- , prefix meaning not or without; cornu, horn; -utus/a/um, adlectival suffix: unhorned, denoting the absence of horns as compared with related species (Charles Klaver, pers. comm., 11 Jan 2023).
