Comparisons: “The differences between T. guerreroensis and T. fasciata pertain primarily to pattern; in fact, the other apparent differences are probably not significant. The pattern is typically broken in guerreroensis, so that the light rings are not countable. It is noteworthy that in the specimen from Mixtequilla the rings are at least discernible, even though not readily countable, whereas in the Guerrero examples the rings are not even discernible. An approach to the features of T. fasciata is thus suggested. Since primarily pattern is involved in distinguishing guerreroensis from fasciata, and since there is some trend of one toward the other, it seems reasonable to regard these two also as subspecific.” (ALVAREZ DEL TORO & SMITH 1956)
