DistributionS India (Western Ghats south of the Palghat Gap to Bhimshankar (80 miles N. E. of Poona, at 2,500 feet, fide ALl 1949: 376). Anaimalai and Travancore hills)

Type locality: ,,Anamallays, Tinnevellys". [Silybura rubrolineata GÜNTHER]  
TypesSyntypes: BMNH 1946.1.15.53 (formerly; Tinnevellys), 1946.1.15.63 (; Nilgiris, Anamallays, 2,000—4,000 feet). [Silybura rubrolineata GÜNTHER] “The original reports listed three types. B. M. No. RR 1946.1.16.26 from „Malabar" is listed as a type on the jar; it should presumably not be considered such as this locality was not mentioned by GüNTHER” (quoted after GANS 1966).
