DiagnosisDiagnosis. A small (71 mm snout-vent length), short-tailed (43 mm), short-headed (20.0 mm) Uroplatus without lateral membranous fringes on lower jaw, neck, body, limbs, and tail base; cranium much higher than snout; snout short, slightly less than half the length of head, depressed, especially anteriorly; body laterally compressed; no spines or crests on head, neck, body, limbs, and tail base. (Nussbaum & Raxworthy 1995) 
Comment 
EtymologyNamed after Malagasy malama = "smooth" in reference to the complete absence of spines, crests, and other raised scales.
