DiagnosisDiagnosis: Myers 1974: 192 
CommentSubspecies: The subspecies fulviceps has been raised to full species status. U. pachyura is not listed in PEREZ-SANTOS & MORENO 1988.

Distribution: not in Ecuador fide O. Torres-Carvajal, pers. comm. 8 Sep 2016. 
EtymologyNamed after Greek pachys (παχύς), thick; fat, plump + Greek oura (ουρα), tail. [“...The tail is long, entering the total length three and three-fifth times, and is thickened to near the end...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
