CommentSynonymy: The specific name is preoccupied by Ablabes decipiens GÜNTHER. Rhadinaea persimilis DUNN 1938 is pre-occupied by Taeniophallus persimilis (COPE 1868)(Brazil). 
EtymologyNamed after Albert Günther (1830-1914), German-born zoologist at the British Museum.
