DiagnosisDiagnosis: Varanus kordensis is distinguished from all other members of the V. prasinus group by the following combination of character states: 0) slender, arboreal body form (70-80 cm total length); (2) tail length almost twice body length; (3) nuchal scales keeled; color pattern reticulum of dark ocelli overlain on ground color, including legs and tail; (4) color yellow-olive to dark green; (5) midbody scal~s average 89, across the head 34; (6) light brown bands across belly [DE LISLE 2009]. 
CommentSynonymy: V. kordensis has been treated as synonym of V. prasinus by several authyors (e.g. COGGER 1983 and MERTENS 1963).
