| Diagnosis | Diagnosis (mylica): A subspecies of Wetmorena haetiana characterized by a unicolor to dotted dorsum without paramedian lines, rows of dashes, or flecks; occiput and neck often with a series of fine longitudinal lines, and higher counts of scale rows around body. (Schwartz 1965)

| Etymology | W. h. mylica was named after Greek mylikos = of a mill, in allusion to the type locality, which is a mahogany sawmill in the Sierra de Baoruco; these lizards were especially common under piles of round rocks and boards which fringed the sawmill area. |
