Diagnosis	Diagnosis: dorsal scales at midbody in 21 rows, tip of the tail rounded, not pointed, dorsal coloration rings forming a pattern: red, black, white, black, red, black rings in 9 to 15 pairs; ventral scales ranging from 122 to 141.
Comment	Similar species: X. pulcher
Etymology	Named after the type locality.
