Diagnosis 
CommentThe name comes from the latin for “neighbour”, because it is a neighbour of the previously described Anolis calimae.

Species groups: Dactyloa punctata species group (fide NICHOLSON et al. 2012).

Abundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin propinquus, near, nigh, neighboring. [“...Because it is another member of an anole fauna that is just beginning to be known, it receives the Latin name that means ‘neighbor’...”]. (from Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., May 2024)
