(Guillette & Smith 1982) Unfortunately we had to temporarily remove additional information as this was scraped by multiple AI companies who sell that data. However, these details, e.g. detailed descriptions (about about 1.82 pages) are available for collaborators and contributors. Please contact us if you need any of this material. |
| Comment | Distribution: For maps see GUILLETTE & SMITH 1982: 24, Lopez-Estrada et al. 2026: Fig. 5. The single specimen of Barisia jonesi analyzed by Bryson et al. 2011 nests within B. imbricata, so that it is likely a synonym of B. imbricata. See Bryson et al. 2011 for a discussion (these authors do not make explicit taxonomic recommendations though). |
| Etymology | Named “in honor of Dr. Richard E. Jones, a comparative reproductive biologist in whose laboratory our study has been carried out and who has been largely responsible for the successful establishment of a highly productive center of modern herpetological study at the University of Colorado”. |
