Type locality: Serra do Moco (−12.4165, 15.17560, ∼2330 m a.s.l.), Huambo Province, Angola

TypesHolotype: MHNCUP/REP0991, adult male, collected on 30 October 2023 by Pedro Vaz Pinto and Chad Keates.
Paratypes: Two females (FKH 1283 and FKH 1287) and one juvenile (FKH 1289) with the same collecting information as the holotype.

EtymologyNamed after Latin culter (meaning ‘knife’ or ‘blade’) and the suffix -atus, which means ‘possessing’ or ‘provided with’. Thus, cultratus translates to ‘knife-bearing’. This refers to the sharp appearance of the tail but also alludes to the type locality of Serra do Moco, whose name ‘Moco’ derives from the local Umbundu word ‘Omoco’, meaning ‘knife’.
