DistributionRepublic of South Africa (Koue Bokkeveld in W Cape)

Type locality: Koue Bokkeveld, near Ceres, South Africa, 32°49' 03" S, 19°27'58" E.  
Reproductionovoviviparous 
TypesHolotype: SAM 47100, adult male. Allotype: SAM 47101, adult female. Parotypes: SAM 47101- 47109,three adult males, one subadult male and four adult females. SAM 47101 and SAM 47109 collected 14 April 1985, all other specimens collected 8 May 1985. 
Diagnosis 
CommentOvoviviparous. 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. G.R. Mclachlan, herpetologist at the South African Museum, Cape Town, in appreciation of his contribution towards herpetology in South Africa.
