| Diagnosis | Diagnosis: A member of the taeniolatus group with 8 or 10 pale stripes. Further distinguishable from impar by lack of pale vertebral stripe, nasals and prefrontals usually in contact, and upper labials usually 8 (Storr 1974: 90).
