| Diagnosis | Diagnosis (n=49): A member of the C. leonhardii species group with the dorsal ground colour pale heige to medium brown. often with a metallic lustre. Black vertebral stripe usually present. occupying no more than one-quarter of each paravertebral scale row and with very weak or no pale edging Laterodorsal dark brown to black stripes. if present, with medial margins irregular, broken up by scattered lighter centred scales. Light dorsolateral line present or absent. Midlateral white stripe, if present, not extending anteriorly beyond midbody and often completely reduced to a zone of whitish spots. Size relatively small, SVL. usually less than 70 mm; tail moderate (mean 187% SVL).
