Type locality: Iran, Sistan-Beluchestan Prov., Chabahar-Beris Road, near touristic camping, 25.233334° N; 60.900002° E, elevation 24 m a.s.l.  
Reproduction 
TypesHolotype. ZMMU R-18260 (RAN 3971). Adult male collected November 6, 2019, by Roman Nazarov, Mahdi Radjabizadeh and Hossain Nabizadeh.
Paratypes. 10 specimens: nine adult females ZMMU R-15964 (RAN 3174), ZMMU R-15965 (RAN 3175), ZMMU R-18261 (RAN 3966), ZMMU R-18262 (RAN 3967), ZISP 30418 (RAN 3172), MMTT (RAN 3173, RAN 3968 – 3970) and one subadult male ZMMU R-18263 (RAN 3972) with the same data as for holotype. 
DiagnosisDiagnosis: SVLmax 41.5 mm and TailL 49 mm. Snout rounded with short rostrum and extremely large eye (HeadLGOrbD 3.0); small, smooth dorsal tubercles in 6 rows across midbody and 22 – 23 tubercles in paravertebral row, along the middle of dorsum; singular enlarged tubercles are present on the dorsal surface of the hind limbs and absent on the fore limbs; tail segments weakly distinguishable, subcaudals in single median row of transversely enlarged plates, width of these plates approximately equal to the height; 17 – 20 abdominal scales across middle of belly, 102 – 110 midventral scales along body. Males with 4 enlarged precloacal pores. No enlarged femoral scales or femoral pores; 11 infralabial scales, 10 supralabial; large triangular mental plate, 2 – 3 pairs of postmentals, first pair in broad contact to each other. Limbs and tail extremely thin and elongate. Dorsal pattern usually absent or consisting of weakly distinct small dark dots or narrow transverse dashes, 4 – 6 transverse dark bands faintly visible at the whitish tail tip, tail base usually without pattern; dorsal background light coloured with barely visible yellowish tinge. CommentStatus: this species should be considered as preliminary, given that the authors only used a COI fragment for sequencing and did not compare it to all Iranian species (which are also not all shown on the map). 
EtymologyNamed after Latin “oculus” for “eye,” and Latin adjective “plenus,” meaning “full of,” “plenty,” and is given in reference to the beautiful large eyes of the new species.
