| Diagnosis | DIAGNOSIS: Rhadinaea persimilis is small-headed and evidently diminutive member of the brevirostris group and agrees with R. affinis, R. bilineata, and R. poecilopogon in having 17-17-17 scale rows and a dark line on row 4 (or dark sides up onto row 4). It lacks the conspicuous white line that extends along the canthus rostralis and through the top of the eye in bilineata and poecilopogon, and it lacks the wedge-shaped postocular marking that characterizes affinis. Additional comparisons are given in the Remarks section under R. affinis. (Myers 1974: 212) Unfortunately we had to temporarily remove additional information as this was scraped by multiple AI companies who sell that data. However, these details, e.g. detailed descriptions (about about 2.2 pages) are available for collaborators and contributors. Please contact us if you need any of this material. |
| Comment | belongs to the “Rhadinaea brevirostris group” sensu Myers (1974) Synonymy partly after PETERS & OREJAS-MIRANDA 1970 and DI BERNARDO 1992. |
| Etymology | Named after Latin persimilis, very like; very similar. (COPE 1869, Esteban Lavilla, pers. comm., April 2024) |
