Type locality: “Massabe [= Pointe Noire], Loango-Küste, W-Afrika”.  
Reproductionovoviviparous 
TypesLectotype: SMF 16084 (= 6431, 2a in BOETTGER 1893). Designation by Mertens (1967). 
Diagnosis 
CommentHas been synonymized with Feylinia elegans previously (fide WITTE & LAURENT 1942). 
EtymologyNamed after Greek makros (μακρός), long; large in size or degree, great + Greek lepis (λεπίς), scale.
