Type locality: Manoi and Vogelkop peninsula, New Guinea.

TypesHolotype: IRSNB type 2.028 (Musée Royal d’Histoire Naturelle de Belgique à Bruxelles). No types are in ZMA (DAAN & HILLENIUS 1966). 
Diagnosis 
CommentAbundance: only known from the type specimen (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Prince Leopold III (1901-1983), King of the Belgians (1934) who abdicated (1951) in favor of his son, Baudouin.
