| Diagnosis | Diagnosis (n=3): Lepidodactylus crockerensis sp. nov. can be separated from all other species of Lepidodactylus by having the unique combination of a maximum adult SVL in males of 49.0 mm; pupil vertical-oval; head, body, limbs and tail covered in granular scales; tubercles absent; no flaps of skin or ventrolateral fold on flanks; first digits of hands and feet short, not vestigial, claw absent; subdigital lamellae thin, transversely expanded, distalmost lamellae entire, usually rounded; 10–14 subdigital lamellae on fourth toe; slight webbing between toes III and IV; 32–40 contiguous, pore-bearing, femoro-precloacal scales in males; tail subcylindrical in cross-section without a lateral fringe of enlarged scales; dorsum in life varies from brownish-grey in light phase with lighter grey mottling and chevron markings or spots in vertebral region to dark brown in dark phase with light brown or cream markings; a pair of dark-coloured sacral spots sometimes present; top of tail bearing faint, irregularly shaped alternating darker and lighter bands; venter beige to cream with darker mottling; underside of limbs and cloacal region yellowish, and subcaudal region cream to salmon coloured.
