CommentLimb morphology: Limbless. 
EtymologyNamed after Army Henry Jiear [sic] (?-1934), Resident Magistrate in British New Guinea. He presented the lizard holotype to the Natural History Museum, London, where Boulenger seems to have misread his name as "Jicar” (Beolens et al. 2011).
