CommentKnown from only a single specimen.

Synonymy: Stegonotus dorsalis is listed as synonym of S. diehli by Wallach et al. 2014. Kaiser et al. 2018 resurrected Stegonotus dorsalis as valid species. 
EtymologyNamed in honor of the German protestant missionary Wilhelm Diehl (1874-1940), who sent the specimens from New Guinea to Wiesbaden.
