Type locality: Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Nueva Moka.

Diagnosis 
CommentETHERIDGE (2000) synonymizes Liolaemus cranwelli with L. wiegmanni although he states that the status of L. cranwelli remains unclear. Belongs to the wiegmanni group of Liolaemus. Probably synonymous with L. wiegmanni (Pincheira-Donoso, pers. comm, 3 Apr 2017).

Abundance: only known from the type locality (Meiri et al. 2017). 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Jorge A. Cranwell, who was in charge of the Herpetology Section, Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales "Bernardino Rivadavia," Buenos Aires.
