TypesHolotype: ZSM 17/1983, male, collected by H. Marcus, no date. Four paratypes in UMMZ according to the original description.

EtymologyNamed after Professor Dr. Ernst Josef Fittkau (b. 1927), an entomologist (specializing in Diptera), and herpetologist who was Director, Zoologische Staatssammlung München (1976-1992).
