CommentSynonymy partly after PETERS & DONOSO-BARROS 1970: 179 who also list Liolaemus elegans TSCHUDI 1845 as a questionable synonym.

Group: The Liolaemus walkeri clade contains 7 species: L. chavin, misti, pachacutec, tacnae, tunupa, walkeri, and wari, fide Trocoso-Palacios et al. 2025.

Distribution: this species is restricted to Peru; reports from Chile represent L. alticolor, L. puna, or L. tacnae. Accordingly, not listed for Chile by Demangel 2016. For a map see SANTA-CRUZ et al. 2025: 120 (Fig. 6). 
EtymologyNamed after Dr. Warren Franklin Walker Jr. (b. 1918), a biologist and herpetologistwho worked with K. P. Schmidt.
